iRiver

The good: Built-in camera; brilliant, if small, LCD color screen; great battery life.
The bad: USB 1.1; cannot be recognized as a storage device without the iRiver program; not easy to pocket.
The bottom line: For an all-in-one gadget that tries hard to fulfill a plethora of functions, it definitely ranks high in effort, though not necessarily in performance.

Fujitsu LifeBook A3110

The good: Snazzy pearl-white finish; shock sensor utility protects hard drive.
The bad: Woeful battery life; not configurable.
The bottom line: If you want that white MacBook look without buying a Mac, the Fujitsu LifeBook A3110 is pretty much the only game in town, as long as you're happy with the set-in-stone default specs and poor battery life.

Leica DLux 3

The good: Great lens; nice design; lots of manual controls.
The bad: Generally soft photos; mediocre movies; no optical viewfinder; expensive.
The bottom line: A good choice for an enthusiast looking for a powerful camera that can fit into a jacket pocket; however, the Leica D-Lux 3 has a price only a Leica aficionado could love.
