Acer Aspire 5000 series
The good: Good performance; affordable 15.4-inch notebook; Multiformat DVD burner.
The bad: Poor battery life; limited connectivity; one-year warranty.
The bottom line: This Acer may appeal to those who want affordability though we'd recommend the 1680 or 1690 for their better value.
